25 years of madness - the LP.

The news is finally here. After 25 years of artistic work I will have my debut vinyl released in Texas, USA, by the most incredible label - Herby Records.

Herby has supported various projects of mine, including the STONED GYPSY WANDERER 2 vinyl release in 2020, NEANDERTHALMEN EP "Powitanie Lucyfera" in 2021, and the CHICA NARCOTICA LP in 2022.

All of those releases are kindly credited not only to HERBY RECORDS, but also to VIA KOSMISCHE, my home studio in which most of my recordings were made across the years.

I can't believe it all started in 1998 with a simple cassette recorder, shaky teenage voice, and a classical guitar.

To those in-the-know, Mr. Dave Bixby is certainly a Hero. So, to be called a national treasure by him is the greatest honor I can imagine. 

I always worked hard, and never stopped making music, noise, writing poetry, composing, improvising, writing song lyrics, even against the hardest currents of Life.

I worked alone for 4 years, then in 2002 I started working with Mateusz Nowicki, 10 years later (2012) with Kacper Wojaczek, and another 10 years later (2022) with Leszek Garstka.

I never enjoyed big ensembles, groups, the noise around rock'n'roll. Although I've always been a fan of Hawkwind, Amon Duul, Gong, Magma, Nektar... the list goes on.

In 2015 I met the mighty Amon Duul II in London. It was a life-changing experience, and I will be eternally grateful to Renate Knaup who invited me backstage after the London gig. I met everyone, talked to everyone, got to know what makes music important, and understood why some things grow fast, and sick, and some things grow slow, and strong and healthy...

SO FINALLY, after 25 years that most of my friends think I spent smoking ganja and drinking beer, not working hard in my home studio, my debut vinyl as ADAM MAJDECKI-JANICKI (self-titled, too) is coming to HERBY RECORDS December 9th. Chirurdzy Dźwięku / Surgeons of Sound + modern cassette culture.

Są reżyserzy dźwięku, są designerzy dźwięku, dlaczego więc nie chirurdzy dźwięku. Każda nieplanowana improwizacja na akustycznej gitarze zdaje się być misternie skomponowaną symfonią na orkiestrę i chór. Jedynym limitem jest niebo, ale też niestety fundusze. Nigdy nie dostałem żadnego stypendium, ani dofinansowania dzięki któremu stać byłoby mnie na pracę z orkiestrami czy chórami.

Jestem dumny i nagi z gitarą akustyczną. Nie zawdzięczam ani milimetra swojego dorobku kolesiostwu ani układom, ani finansowaniu przez rozmaite artystyczne instytucje państwowe lub prywatne.

Od 1998 roku sam, a od 2002 z różnymi nielicznymi przyjaciółmi realizuję symfonię "Zmierzch / Świt". Hipisowską symfonię, bo prawdziwego hipisa mam we krwi odkąd sięgam pamięcią. Może niewygodne jest finansowanie hipisów, i muszą radzić sobie sami.

Symfonia ta na razie rozkłada się na tysiące nagrań wydanych na ponad 100 płytach. Wspierają mnie od 2018 roku rozmaite mniejsze lub większe wytórnie, netlabele... jest to dobra praca.

Co jest miarą dobrej pracy? Sam musisz to wiedzieć. Sam musisz wiedzieć, czym jest sukces, bo nikt ci tego nie powie. Kolesie będą poklepywać się po plecach i mówić "wow, wymiatasz, jesteś super, świetna płyta", ale to gadanie nie jest miarą ani dobrej pracy ani sukcesu. Świadczy o tym, że utknąłeś w samym sercu kółka wzajemnej adoracji. Wyrwij się z tego kółka, a odkryjesz wolność.

Nie cierpię środowisk akademickich. Z drugiej strony je podziwiam. Potrafią znaleźć 30-stronicowy esej na temat 20 minutowego drone'a na jedną wiolonczelę. Ja nie potrafię. Ja jestem tą wiolonczelą.

I chirurgiem dźwięku.

A co ze współczesną kulturą kasetową? Cóż, moim zdaniem jest nią soundcloud. Tam odkrywam i dzielę się z wami nowymi dźwiękami. Nie trzeba już wysyłać kaset pocztą. Ludzie nagrywają je w domu, udostępniają na profilu soundcloud, i tam rodzi się muzyka. Z dala od kolesiostwa, wielkich budżetów, i nadmuchanego ego.

Ale muzyka rodzi się przede wszystkim w tobie. Każdy jest muzykiem. Moja droga udowadnia to już od 1998 roku. 25 lat. Albo 25 lat kompletnego szaleństwa, albo 25 lat symfonii "Zmierzch / Świt".
To już nie moja decyzja, jak nazwiecie moją ścieżkę.

Ale jestem kontent. Bardzo podoba mi się świeżość i precyzja. Więcej chirurgów dźwięku. Zapraszam...
